Common questions
What goes into the score?
Items are weighted by how much they actually affect your body and focus over a full workday. Correct monitor height scores 8 points because even a few degrees of upward gaze adds up to real neck strain. A desk mat scores 4 because it helps, but it doesn't reshape your posture. All 7 categories add up to 100.
What should I fix first?
Get your monitor to eye level first. It's worth 8 points and you can fix it today with books or a $20 stand before spending anything. If your chair has no lumbar support, that's the next thing to address.
Do I need to spend a lot to score well?
No. More than half the items are free adjustments: monitor height, seat height, armrest angle, where the lamp is pointing. If your chair and desk are adjustable, you can probably hit 65 without buying anything new. A monitor stand and a desk lamp cover most of the rest for well under $100.
