Disclosure: WorkstationSetup has not tested IKEA sit/stand desks hands-on. This comparison uses current manufacturer documentation, IKEA-published prices, and owner reports on IKEA's US product pages. UPLIFT V3 specifications come from UPLIFT Desk's current documentation already cited on this site. This post contains affiliate links for UPLIFT Desk products only.

Shoppers usually land here because IKEA is the sit/stand desk they can see in a store. The UPLIFT V3 Standing Desk is the configurable alternative if you want more lifting capacity, a longer advertised warranty, and a frame designed as an accessory platform.

The current IKEA desk that matches this search is IDÅSEN, not BEKANT. On August 21, 2026, IKEA's US office-desk listing still sold IDÅSEN sit/stand, plus cheaper TROTTEN and MITTZON sit/stand desks. A complete BEKANT sit/stand desk was not shown on that category page. This comparison treats IDÅSEN as the IKEA sit/stand most people mean, and it sends the buy CTA only to the V3.

Bottom line

Choose the UPLIFT V3: The UPLIFT V3 Standing Desk ($599-$939) is the better long-term workstation if you want 355 lb lifting capacity, a 22.6 to 48.7 inch listed height range with a 1 inch desktop, 48 threaded accessory points, FlexMount cable management, and 15-year advertised coverage. That is the desk to buy if the frame has to grow with monitors, arms, and power.

Choose IKEA IDÅSEN: IKEA's 63 by 31 1/2 inch IDÅSEN sit/stand listed at $799 on the US product page on August 21, 2026. It is the better fit if you want store pickup, a simple up/down handle, a 10-year limited warranty, and fewer configuration decisions. It is not automatically the cheaper desk.

Skip a universal stability winner: WorkstationSetup has not tested IDÅSEN. Owner reports on IKEA's US page describe a sturdy top and little wobble with a dual-monitor arm, and other owners report the lift pausing under a modest PC and two-monitor load. Those are owner reports, not our measurements.

What This Comparison Covers

This is IKEA as a retail sit/stand versus the V3 as a modular workstation, not another FlexiSpot spec fight and not an UPLIFT lineup picker.

If you want the two FlexiSpot frames against each other instead of this IKEA vs V3 page, see FlexiSpot E6 Pro vs E7 Pro. That 1v1 stays inside FlexiSpot. Both desks stay research-backed.

If you want the two-motor E7 Pro against the four-motor E7 Plus Max instead of that two-motor 1v1, see FlexiSpot E7 Pro vs E7 Plus Max. That page is the 2-motor vs 4-motor FlexiSpot split, not E7 Pro vs V3. Both desks stay research-backed.

IKEA side: The current 63 by 31 1/2 inch IDÅSEN sit/stand (article 792.809.98, black/dark gray) and the matching IDÅSEN sit/stand underframe. BEKANT appears only as the older sit/stand line. IKEA's cheaper TROTTEN sit/stand is noted where price is the actual reason someone is shopping IKEA.

UPLIFT side: The standard two-leg UPLIFT V3 Standing Desk. If you need four motors or an L-shape, use Which UPLIFT Standing Desk Is Right for You instead of this page.

Evidence: Manufacturer pages, IKEA's US owner reviews, and UPLIFT specs already used on this site. This page does not include an IKEA buy link.

The Capacity Question

This is the cleanest spec gap.

IKEA's US complete-desk page for the 63 inch IDÅSEN lists a 154 lb max load. IKEA's IDÅSEN sit/stand underframe page and the US advice document list 165 lb (75 kg). Those are IKEA's own figures, and they do not match. Do not average them. Treat 154 lb as the complete-desk listing and 165 lb as the underframe/manual listing, then stay under both if you buy IDÅSEN.

UPLIFT lists the V3 at 355 lb lifting capacity. That is a lifting rating, not a parked static-load figure, so it still should not be subtracted from IKEA's max-load number as if they were the same lab test. Even with that caveat, the V3's published headroom is much larger.

Owner reports on IKEA's US IDÅSEN page split on this. Some owners describe the desk as supporting significant weight. At least one owner with a small PC and two monitors (about 50 lb, in that report) said the lift often paused and needed the switch toggled more than once. That is an owner report, not a WorkstationSetup load test. It is still a reason not to treat IDÅSEN as a heavy multi-monitor frame.

If your setup is a laptop, one monitor, and light accessories, IDÅSEN's published load can cover it. If you're adding a desktop PC, dual arms, and a thick top, the V3 is the spec match.

The Stability Question

We cannot name a hands-on stability winner. WorkstationSetup has not instrumented IDÅSEN, and this page does not add a new V3 sitting or standing test.

What we can say from published material:

  • IKEA markets IDÅSEN as a sturdy, contract-grade sit/stand and marks it ANSI/BIFMA. Owner reviews on the US complete-desk page repeatedly call the desk sturdy. One owner at 6'3" reported almost no wobble with a two-arm monitor setup. Another called it solid at its tallest setting.
  • UPLIFT markets the V3 around dual-wall steel feet, a contract-grade i-beam crossbar, and ANSI/BIFMA X5.5-2021 plus G1-2013 height. The frame spec sheet lists 355 lb lifting capacity and 3-stage legs.

Owner praise is not the same as a wobble measurement. If stability under a growing monitor load is the reason you are shopping, the V3 has the higher published capacity and the accessory-mounting system. If you want a simple IKEA top and the owner reports of a planted IDÅSEN match how you work, IDÅSEN can still be enough.

The Motor and Control Question

Both desks use two lifting legs. The daily difference is how you tell them to move, and how much the manufacturer publishes about speed.

UPLIFT lists 2 inches per second and less than 48 dB for the V3. Advanced keypad options add four saved heights, a display, and USB on some models. A Bluetooth adapter is optional for the UPLIFT Desk app.

IKEA's US IDÅSEN complete-desk page tells you to adjust height "by using the handle." It does not list a numeric lift speed, on-desk memory presets, or a dB figure. IKEA's IDÅSEN system page says you can adjust height with a phone app or manually. The US advice document specifies:

  • Sound level lower than 55 dB(A)
  • Height setting interval 23.6 to 48.8 inches (60 to 124 cm)
  • Maximum load 75 kg / 165 lb
  • Motors may run continuously for 2 minutes, then need about 18 minutes of standby
  • Desk Control app for iOS and Android, with Bluetooth pairing

That duty cycle is unpublished on UPLIFT's V3 frame spec sheet, so this page does not invent a V3 equivalent. It does mean IDÅSEN is not specified as a desk you can run up and down all afternoon without pauses.

Owner reports match the simple-handle design. Several US reviewers wanted stored sitting and standing heights on the desk itself and said those live in the Bluetooth app, not on the handle. If you want to tap a preset without opening a phone, the V3 is the clearer control system.

The Height Range Question

IKEA IDÅSENUPLIFT V3
Complete-desk / finished-top listing24 3/4 to 50 inches (US complete-desk page)22.6 to 48.7 inches with a 1 inch desktop
Frame / advice-document listing23.6 to 48.8 inches in the US advice document. Underframe page lists 23 1/4 to 48 7/8 inchesFrame spec sheet lists 21.6 to 47.7 inches without the top
Listed travel on the finished-top figures25 1/4 inches26.1 inches

IKEA's own documents disagree by about an inch. The complete-desk page is the finished 63 inch IDÅSEN. The advice document and underframe page look like frame-interval figures. Do not treat a half-inch gap as a winner until you confirm which number includes the top.

On the finished-top listings, IDÅSEN reaches a higher maximum (50 vs 48.7 inches) and the V3 reaches a lower minimum (22.6 vs 24 3/4 inches). Shorter seated users, or anyone who wants the keyboard below a typical fixed desk, should start with the V3. Taller standing users who need the extra top end should measure before assuming 50 inches is required.

Measure floor to elbow while seated and standing, then compare those numbers with the listing that matches the exact article you will order.

Warranty, Returns, and the Retail Path

IKEA advertises a 10-year limited warranty on IDÅSEN and prints 365-day returns on the product page. That retail path is the real IKEA advantage: see it in a store, take it home, and return it on a long window if the height or wobble is wrong.

UPLIFT advertises 15-year coverage for the V3 and 30-day returns with free return shipping. Warranty length is not a durability test. It is the repair and replacement risk each company agrees to cover. Read both current written policies before treating 15 years as automatically better in every claim scenario.

Price is not an automatic IKEA advantage on this model. The 63 inch IDÅSEN listed at $799 on August 21, 2026. The V3's live starting price is $599-$939 and changes with desktop size and material. Compare a complete V3 configuration with the IKEA article in your cart, including delivery or pickup.

If the only reason you opened IKEA was a lower ticket, look at TROTTEN sit/stand on the same US office-desk page. A 63 inch TROTTEN sit/stand listed at $279.99 on clearance the same day. That is a different, cheaper IKEA sit/stand, not a substitute IDÅSEN spec sheet.

Modularity and Cable Management

This is where the V3 stops being "another standing desk" and becomes a workstation frame.

UPLIFT includes FlexMount cable management (a 10 lb pouch) and 48 threaded mounting points for monitor arms, trays, power, and storage. Desktop sizes run from compact 42 by 24 inch tops through 80 by 30 inch tops, with 50+ materials. The frame width adjusts. You're configuring a system.

IDÅSEN is a set package: IKEA top, IKEA underframe, underside cord solution, and IKEA storage that matches the series. The sit/stand underframe is extendable for IDÅSEN tops in 47 1/4 by 27 1/2 inch and 63 by 31 1/2 inch sizes. IKEA describes the complete-desk top as constructed board with a honeycomb paper core. That keeps the top light. It is not a solid-wood or butcher-block program on the scale of UPLIFT's builder.

Owners like IDÅSEN's cable hammock when it is included. At least one underframe review said a sale unit arrived without the grid under the table for an adapter. Confirm what the current article includes before you assume a tray is in the box.

If you want to bolt on a growing accessory set, buy the UPLIFT V3. If you want one IKEA article that looks like the showroom, IDÅSEN is the simpler product.

If the V3 frame is already the pick and you only need the top split, see UPLIFT V3 desktop comparison.

Where BEKANT Fits

BEKANT is the older IKEA sit/stand name in this search. On August 21, 2026, IKEA's US office-desk category did not list a complete BEKANT sit/stand desk. Fixed-height BEKANT desks were still listed. An older IKEA commercial catalog listed BEKANT sit/stand at 22 to 48 inches electrically, with a 154 lb max load and a 10-year limited warranty.

Do not order a current IDÅSEN, TROTTEN, or MITTZON thinking it is BEKANT. If you already own BEKANT sit/stand, use IKEA's article number and the 22 to 48 inch / 154 lb figures from that older documentation as the starting point, then confirm with IKEA support. This page does not invent a current US BEKANT sit/stand price because that complete desk was not listed.

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the UPLIFT V3 if:

  • You want 355 lb lifting capacity and a frame that can take dual arms without sitting on IKEA's 154 to 165 lb labels
  • You want 48 threaded mounting points and included FlexMount cable management
  • You want a listed minimum height of 22.6 inches
  • You want on-desk memory presets and a 15-year advertised warranty
  • You're building a primary computer workstation you expect to keep expanding

Check the UPLIFT V3's current price

Buy IKEA IDÅSEN if:

  • Store pickup, showroom inspection, and IKEA's 365-day return window matter more than accessory mounting
  • You want a simple handle plus the Desk Control app, and you don't need on-desk presets
  • A 10-year limited warranty and a complete 63 inch IKEA article at the $799 listing (August 21, 2026) match how you shop
  • Your load stays comfortably under IKEA's published 154 lb complete-desk max load
  • You already own IDÅSEN storage and want the matching sit/stand

IKEA is the retail path. There is no IKEA buy link on this page.

Pause before buying either if:

  • You need a verified numeric IDÅSEN lift speed. IKEA does not publish one on the US complete-desk page
  • You need one official IDÅSEN height range. IKEA's complete-desk, underframe, and advice documents disagree by about an inch
  • You were shopping BEKANT sit/stand. Confirm whether that complete desk is still sold in your market
  • You only care about the lowest IKEA ticket. TROTTEN sit/stand was the cheaper IKEA listing on August 21, 2026

Buying Tips

  • Measure first. Record seated and standing elbow height. IDÅSEN's complete-desk listing starts higher. The V3 listing starts lower.
  • Price complete configurations. IDÅSEN's $799 is a dated IKEA US listing. The V3 live price is $599-$939 and moves with the top you pick.
  • Stay inside the published load. Do not treat owner photos of dual monitors as proof IDÅSEN likes a desktop PC plus arms.
  • Plan cables before assembly. FlexMount is part of the V3. IDÅSEN's hammock is a simpler underside net. Leave slack for full travel either way. See the desk cable management setup guide.
  • Use the return window as a fit test. Height range and wobble are personal. IKEA's 365-day window is longer. UPLIFT's 30-day window is shorter and should be confirmed before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an IKEA standing desk better than the UPLIFT V3?

No universal winner. The UPLIFT V3 is the better workstation spec: higher published lifting capacity, lower listed minimum height, accessory mounting, and a longer advertised warranty. IDÅSEN is the better retail sit/stand if you want IKEA pickup, a simple handle, and fewer configuration choices. WorkstationSetup has not tested IDÅSEN hands-on.

How much does the IKEA IDÅSEN sit/stand desk cost?

IKEA listed the 63 by 31 1/2 inch IDÅSEN sit/stand at $799 on its US product page on August 21, 2026. The sit/stand underframe alone listed at $600 the same day. Those are IKEA-published figures from that date. Confirm the current article price on IKEA before you buy.

Does IKEA still sell the BEKANT standing desk?

A complete BEKANT sit/stand desk was not listed on IKEA's US office-desk category page on August 21, 2026. Fixed-height BEKANT desks were still listed. IKEA's current US sit/stand names on that page were IDÅSEN, TROTTEN, MITTZON, BOLLSIDAN, and RODULF. If you need BEKANT-specific parts, check IKEA's article number rather than assuming IDÅSEN is the same frame.

Which desk has the higher weight capacity?

UPLIFT lists 355 lb lifting capacity for the V3. IKEA lists 154 lb max load on the 63 inch IDÅSEN complete-desk page and 165 lb on the underframe and advice document. Those labels are not identical tests, but the V3 is the higher published-capacity desk.

Can the IKEA IDÅSEN handle dual monitors?

Some IKEA US owners report a two-arm monitor setup with little wobble. At least one owner with a small PC and two monitors reported the lift pausing. IKEA's complete-desk max load is 154 lb. Dual monitors can fit that number. A heavy arm plus a desktop PC may not. The V3's 355 lb lifting rating is the more comfortable spec for a growing monitor setup. See the multi-monitor desk setup guide for surface planning.

Does IDÅSEN have memory presets?

IKEA's US complete-desk page describes a handle, not on-desk numbered presets. IKEA's system page and advice document describe the Desk Control app over Bluetooth. Owner reviews on the US page report using the app for stored heights. The V3 can add four saved heights with an advanced keypad.

Which desk is quieter?

UPLIFT lists less than 48 dB for the V3. IKEA lists lower than 55 dB(A) in the IDÅSEN advice document. IKEA does not publish a numeric noise figure on the US complete-desk page. Those are manufacturer figures, not a side-by-side measurement on this site.

Is IDÅSEN cheaper than the UPLIFT V3?

Not automatically. IDÅSEN's 63 inch sit/stand listed at $799 on August 21, 2026. The V3 live price is $599-$939 and depends on the desktop. IKEA's cheaper current sit/stand on that day's office-desk page was TROTTEN, not IDÅSEN.
